Pastor Chris Hagler has been serving with us since November of 2021. Pastor Chris was first introduced to the Christian faith in the Roman Catholic tradition. Upon his senior year in high school, he experienced first-hand God’s gracious love for him through Jesus Christ. Through many twists and turns along with a few ups and downs he has found his faith rejuvenated again in The United Methodist Church. Pastor Chris earned a Master of Divinity degree in May 2000 and previously served as an assistant pastor and pastor within the former jurisdiction of the WNY annual conference of The United Methodist Church. Pastor Chris became a board-certified chaplain with the Spiritual Care Association in the fall of 2021.
Pastor Chris and his wife, Tracy, between them have four children (Chris’ adult son, Tracy’s adult son & daughter, and their pre-teen daughter)
Since his appointment to our church, he leads Sunday morning worship and Wednesday Small Group Study. We are blessed to have him serve as our Pastor here at Bowmansville UMC.
Sandra May, Secretary
Sandy came to BUMC in 1959 and met her future husband, Al. They married at the church 8/1/64 and have two grown children, Sally and Jeff, as a well as four grandchildren. Sandy has served the church as a nursery worker, Sunday School teacher, and was a member of UMW and the choir. In 1976, she became the Church Secretary and the “go to” person for anything you needed to know about the church. Sandy enjoys crocheting, and she has warmed many cold hands with mittens crocheted as donations or for fundraisers .
Ken Kowalski, Pianist
I’m The pianist at Bowmansville United Methodist Church. …. Sorry, I don’t play organ, in fact I’m more of a sax and bass player than piano! I’m a former Lancaster School District band director of 37 years. I started coming to BUMC about 10 years ago with the expectation to enjoy a sermon on Sundays and nothing more. But I found a sweet family, and a place I can truly enjoy. I invite all others to do the same! PS – yes, I’ll play requests !!!
